The group will depart from the southwest corner of the intersection of SH75 and FM1417 in Sherman. This is the location of the Shell Gas Station and the Jack In The Box restaurant. We plan to leave at 8:00 AM, so start gathering at about 7:30. You can 'snack' and gas up at the depart-location.

Follow route description with the jpg map at bottom of this page.

We have worked out what looks like a great ride for Saturday. We will go to Denton Cracker Barrel for the first leg by taking 1417 the 'back way' on Old Dorchester Road/Rockport/Preston Meadows to 289, then south to 902. We will follow 902 west (mostly) to 377, the turn south to 455. We will cross the dam on Lake Ray Roberts on 455 and go west to 2164, turn south and pick up the Denton Loop to I35 for a short distance and end up at the Cracker Barrel The total for this leg is just over 60 miles and is a very nice ride.

The second leg - after breakfast - will take us a back way from Denton via 1173, 2450 to 373 north through Muenster and then through Bulcher (a great ride) and across the Tayovayas Indian Bridge to OK 32. From there we will jog east, then go north at Rubbottom on Hwy 76 to Ardmore where we can gas up. From Ardmore we will then drop down along the west and south shore of Lake Murray to Marietta Landing (on Lake Murray) via Hwy 77S (Scenic). There is a rest stop and restroom at Marietta Landing on southeast edge of Lake Murray and we will stop for a short break. This is a good photo-op for the Lake. The total length of this leg is 120 miles - and most of it is very nice and scenic!

From there we will take the back way from Marietta Landing to Powell and to 377, then come across the Willis Bridge and back to Sadler - where Cindy and Terry will probably disembark. That leg will total about 38 miles.

From Sadler it is another 16.7 miles to Hwy 75/ Hwy 82 intersection in Sherman. Others will probably peel off along the way at various points. Total for second leg is 175 miles and should put us home about or 2:30 PM - ready for some air conditioning.

Total for the trip will be about 235 miles - for some it will be a little more and for some a little less, depending upon where people leave on the way back into Sherman.

We look forward to seeing everyone Saturday. Gas up ready to head west at 8:00 AM.

'Keep on bikin'...
